Elderly people face holiday depression at higher rates

Hug your Senior a little tighter this holiday season. Jasmine Wadkins, LCSW, CDP, BF-CMT, CCTP, CEA, Director of Behavioral Health at Peace Hospital, says seniors living at home with family are 20% more likely to experience depression than the average person. For those in the hospital, that goes up to 45%. Those living in a nursing home are 60% more likely to show signs of depression. Watch her interview here by WHAS-TV 11.
